The difficult assault is the power and the
beauty beating down from the north and the face through the riverbed
(cirque) of the Gruncharsko Lake. There are snarling rocks in exposed
places with dwarf knee-pine bushes but Souha (Dry) Vapa is completely
accessible from its eastern side - smooth, stepped grasslands, grizzled
by the crouching growth.
The Souha Vapa peak is 2640M high. The second part of the name,
Vapa, is an old Slavic word for lake, a dried up lake. The name
also means mill-pool but in the geographical context of Rila is
applied only to the idea of a lake.
